Idiots make for interesting commentary.

Or ignore it, really isn't that hard.

For the past couple of days I have been trying to sell my undedicated mini pets: Temple Guardian, Jungle Troll, and Bone Dragon. When in game, I usually post something like this:

[CENTER][B]"WTS Undedicated Bone Dragon 90k [no trades please]"

and here are the responses I get.

"What mini pet are you selling?"
"How much is the B Dragon?"
I often find myself asking those two questions because their full message doesn't show up in Party Chat (It's a lot easier to look through there for something interesting than it is to read through the trade channel spam). As for the other questions...there's no excuse.

IQ is a load of BS.

Lots of people cant read but remember that people might be using the listing thing and since it can only display 4 characters the price or "no trades" might be cut off the end so dont jump to conclusions about people

making them pass a test wont help---they will just get a hack for it!
if you are going to sell stuff, you just need to learn to ignore the riff-raff and decide with whom you wish to deal.

Because A-Net would restrict the number of people who can play the game... Makes sense.

Forget an IQ test in guild wars, we need one at the polls.

It's because your selling minipets. Only stupid people like minipets, hence the stupid responses.

and my favorite...
"Are you selling your account?"

Now today...oh today...I'm trying to sell all of my mini pets so I can get Primeval Armor for my Warrior. Here is what I posted:

"WTS Some Undedicated Min"

and again...this is what I get.

"How much are Necrid Horseman and Dedicated Rat?"
"What pets are you selling?"

...just wait and there'll be more.
Edited as seen in the trade window listing. Just phrase your responses so that they fit in the trade search limit

such as "WTS mini Bone Dragon 90k (Undedicated)" The bolded bit being the part which everyone can see.

I ask a few of those dumb questions just because of the trade search limit... but usually I do add and explanation as to why im asking.

Remember, not everyone likes to filter out through the red tradechat spam, or they use the trade search to find offers/buyers in other districts aswell.

Back on topic:

Yes, an IQ test would be awesome, especially for PvP. But it would reduce Anet's playerbase by 95%, so don't expect to see it happen

See the only problem with an IQ test is that it doesn't measure INTELLIGENCE. It measures how much you know about your culture and general knowledge in your country. Example; If I took an American IQ test, I would go badly, which would say that I am unintelligent. But if I took an Australian one, the results would be different as I would know the background to the questions involved.

It works the same for all cultures. A person from Africa who can do ANY maths equation instantly would probably fail an IQ test because he/she would not understand the questions being asked, as he/she would not have grown up with the same environment as the people who made the test.

IQ tests are a lie, basically.

how about we get to the root of the problem.

considering how many "stupid" people decide to have kids, we should implement some type of testing system for couples that want to have babies.

there are just too many "dumb" people procreating.

"What mini pet are you selling?" - person probably does not know what a bone dragon is, or person wants to check if you are a noob and maybe can buy low and then go power trade it somewhere else.

"How much is the B Dragon?" - person probably confuse when you say 90k and then in brackets says no trades. or person maybe trying to ask you once more and see if your initial price has been shaken, say if you are unsure of the price, you may reduce it when they ask you that.

"I'll buy your Kuunavang." - person obviously think bone dragon is a kuunavang.

"20k for Boner Dragon." - person trying to bargain your price, probably scumbag power traders...

and my favorite...
"Are you selling your account?" - I agree the person is an idiot.

"How much are Necrid Horseman and Dedicated Rat?" - person obviously think you are elite sellers and try to get a price check from you.

"What pets are you selling?" - person making small talk. or they don't know what bone dragon is.

don't get angry, ignore them, I am sure there are lots of reasons why some people ask those questions.
